To assign metadata, SharePoint forces users to open each document individually.
Classifier provides a simple way to tag many files that share common metadata values. You can tag and move previously loaded documents, en masse, with regulatory data, retention dates and useful keywords. This greatly accelerates and encourages the assignment of metadata, which makes content more "findable", compliant and usable.

Load files and folders from file system to SharePoint library in bulk while assigning them content type and column values. Map values from folder names or file system properties such as Created At, Owner, Title, Subject, etc. to SharePoint fields. You can even remove folders structurs during import. And it is done in one step. No more editing each document in SharePoint to populate field values. - Server-side Installation Not Required
All operations are done using SharePoint web services. Server side installation is only required if Created By/At and/or Modified By/At need to be overwritten.
